Abstract

This study investigates how integrating gamification and IRS (e.g., Kahoot!) into a Chinese assessment course enhances motivation, engagement, and assessment literacy. Through mixed-method action research with 130 students, task-based activities and peer feedback complemented theoretical instruction. While test gains were modest, strong correlations and qualitative data suggest IRS-based gamification effectively supports learning in content-heavy courses.
