Abstract

Socio-scientific issues combining both dimensions of science and social science (e.g., issues of energy policy etc.) will help students cultivate interdisciplinary thinking and decision-making abilities. Through quantitative content analysis, this study preliminarily explored the distribution of each dimension of social knowledge construction that learners showed by discussing socio-scientific issues in the environment of online asynchronous discussion collaborative learning. Also, this study discussed and provided relevant suggestions as references for instructional practices based on the research results.
